Famitsu Game Rankings

We meet again, dear reader. Another week has come and gone as it has done in Japan as well. And as a result; here's some sales charts from our Asian gaming cousins. Although Final Fantasy XIII had a rip-roaring start in December, you'll hardly find it on our top 10 this week. Same can't be said about Square's other chart-topper this month; Kingdom Hearts sits pretty on top. Selling a cool 500k over the first two days of sale, heaven knows how many units it's shifted now. New Super Mario Bros. Wii still can't find the push to reclaim the top spot, however, I hardly think Nintendo is loosing any [Birth by] Sleep about it, mind you. What with it selling 3 million units total and with it, becoming the fastest selling Wii game so far. Other notable appearances: Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles has a good start at #3 and CiNG/Nintendo's latest collaboration/sequel to Hotel Dusk; Last Window enters the chart at #9. Famitsu Game Rankings are sales figures collected and compiled by Japanese magazine company; Famitsu. They are generally posted every Wednesday and reflect the sales of games from the past week. All sales dates are Japanese dates and may not reflect release dates from other regions. 50Hz Blogger transliterates these lists and places them on the blog every week. Check back every Wednesday for updates. (Sometimes there may be an unexpected delay, in which case readers may find them appear on a Thursday or Friday.)
